At Hedeker, we support our clients in identifying high-growth potential opportunities both locally and internationally. As a firm specialized in investments, we believe in the power of well-executed ideas and in the importance of detecting emerging trends. In this article, we explore five standout cases from Shark Tank México, a show that has served as a platform for some of the country’s most innovative and successful ventures. These stories are not only inspiring—they also offer valuable insights into how a vision can be transformed into a profitable, scalable, and impactful business.

Since its debut, Shark Tank México has become a showcase of opportunity for entrepreneurs determined to turn their ideas into viable ventures. Over the seasons, we’ve seen a parade of creative, disruptive proposals that are deeply aligned with the needs of Mexican consumers. Some of these projects not only secured the support of the sharks but also succeeded in establishing themselves as strong brands in the market. Today, we present five of the most inspiring stories to emerge from the tank—ventures that are still swimming in successful waters.

One of the most striking cases was Chez Vous #TimeCafé, a completely new concept in Mexico. It’s a café where you don’t pay for what you consume, but for the time you spend there. During your stay, you can enjoy unlimited drinks, snacks, board games, and a relaxed environment that invites you to work or socialize. Enthusiastically pitched by its founders, the idea convinced Arturo Elías Ayub and Rodrigo Herrera, who invested 3.5 million pesos in exchange for 49% of the company. Today, Chez Vous has three locations in Mexico City and continues to expand.

Another business that captured the panel’s attention was Contalisto, a platform that helps individuals easily fulfill their tax obligations. Its app allows users to file taxes with Mexico’s SAT without technical headaches or high costs—an invaluable solution for millions of freelancers across the country. Founded by David Lozano and Óscar García, the company secured 2 million pesos from the same sharks who backed Chez Vous. With this investment, the startup improved its technology and expanded its customer base.

In a more ecological and futuristic direction, we met Gricha, a brand that produces cookies made from cricket flour—a highly nutritious and sustainable source of protein. This innovative proposal was presented by Alba Rodríguez in 2017 and surprised both the audience and investors. Although no deal was finalized on air, the project continued to grow, and today its products are sold internationally. Gricha has positioned itself as a low-impact, high-nutritional-value food alternative.

MITU Calzado also stood out—a women’s shoe brand that combines style, quality, and comfort. Founded by three young entrepreneurs—Alejandra Gámez, Angélica Ruiz, and Ricardo Gámez—MITU had already generated over 5 million pesos in sales before appearing on the show. Their proposal won over Rodrigo Herrera and Carlos Bremer, who saw the brand’s potential and decided to come on board as partners. Today, MITU sells online and in physical stores, and has even participated in events like Fashion Week, solidifying its position as a benchmark of Mexican design.

Finally, we can’t leave out Bonpair, a brand that turned an everyday accessory like socks into a statement of personal identity. With creative designs and high-quality materials, Diana and Luis Otón entered the tank seeking 550,000 pesos in exchange for 20% of their company. Although the offer changed during negotiations, they succeeded in securing investment from Carlos Bremer in return for 33.33%. Since then, Bonpair has expanded its distribution network and now boasts over 40 points of sale, along with a very active digital community.

These cases not only illustrate the entrepreneurial talent that exists in Mexico, but also the importance of having a clear strategy, a solid product, and the ability to communicate with passion. For companies like Hedeker, which support investors and brands in their growth journeys, analyzing stories like these is a source of both inspiration and learning. In an increasingly competitive and globalized environment, betting on innovation and authenticity is essential to stand out in the market.
